GEOMIN AI Labs 2026

GEOMIN AI Labs 2026 was an applied AI and Data Science hackathon held in Tashkent on 13 September 2026 as part of the international GEOMIN 2026 mineral exploration and mining conference (14-16 September, Hilton Tashkent City). The hackathon challenged students and young professionals to apply machine learning to real problems in geology, mineral exploration and mining. Participants worked through four practical machine-learning tasks built on industry data.

Format

• Organised by the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) with the support of the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan
• Technology partner: SLB
• Around 60 applications from students and young specialists across Uzbekistan
• 10 finalists presented their projects to an expert jury

Prizes

• The top two finishers received paid internships at SLB plus participation in practical industry projects
• All three prize-winners received tickets to the GEOMIN 2026 conference
• All finalists received commemorative gifts
